PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming device which is high in efficiency and safe and has simple constitution by heating an image carrier itself such as an electrophotographic sensitive drum and a dielectric drum for electrostatic recording by an induction heating system. CONSTITUTION:An induction heating means 4 which produces an alternating magnetic field is arranged in the vicinity of the image carrier 3 constituted by providing a photosensitive body layer or dielectric layer 2 on a conductive base 1 to heat the image carrier by electromagnetic induction. When the alternating magnetic field is applied from the induction heating means 4 to the image carrier 3, an eddy current is generated in the conductive base 1 of the image carrier 3 by electromagnetic induction and the conductive base itself generates heat by Joule's heat due to the loss of the eddy current to heat and dry the photosensitive body layer or dielectric layer 2 supported on its surface. The image carrier itself generates heat, so high heat efficiency is obtained. |
