The tape handling mechanism is suited to computer inputs, microfilm readers, and magnetic recording tape, and uses pairs of rollers to support sections of a tape in lengths corresponding to each 'page' of information on the tape, permitting access to the required page on the tape without the need to run through its length in order to reach the required part. A central primary roller has second rollers grouped around it. Both rollers may be rotated and the second rollers displaced to allow positioning of the required tape in front of a fixed location used for reading from or writing to the tape.
