The invention relates to a device for storing and/or transporting objects, in particular objects which can be stacked on a support plane comprising a horizontal plate 1 mounted so as to be movable heightwise on a bearing structure, the said plate being capable of rising or descending as a function of its load. According to the invention, it comprises means for guiding the plate with respect to the bearing structure, means consisting of a plurality of vertical fixed slides 13, 13', 14, 14', originating from the said bearing structure, and interacting with a plurality of bearing means 15, 15', 16, 16' originating from the plate and capable of sliding so as to be movably bearing on the said slides, elastic restoring means being provided on the said guiding means in order to keep the said bearing means in contact under tension with the said slides. The invention applies to the transport and storage of objects which can be stacked. <IMAGE>
