The present invention relates to a dot matrix liquid crystal cell. This cell is characterised in that the normal substrate 12 has dimensions greater than those of the extremely thin substrate 11, the two substrates being placed opposite each other in such a way that one of the sides of an end joint forms one of the faces, external terminals 15 of electrodes 13 situated on the same side as the extremely thin substrate 11 are formed on the part of the edge of the side of the normal substrate 12 at the same distance from one another as the electrodes 13 and the terminals 15 and the end of the electrodes 13 are electrically linked by means of anisotropic conducting element 17 interposed between them. <IMAGE>
