PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and to reduce the fading of a recording image or decolorization due to a plasticizer and oil etc., in a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a developer as main components is provided on a support, by using a specific compound as developer and providing an undercoat layer containing the other specific compound and a zinc compound between the thermal recording layer and the support. CONSTITUTION:1, 7-di(4-hydroxyphenylthio-3, 5-dioxaheptane) represented by formula I is used as a developer and an undercoat layer containing a compound represented by formula II (wherein M is a metal selected from Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba, R is hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aralkyl and halogen etc. and n is an integer of 1 to 4) and a zinc compound is provided between a thermal recording layer and a support. Thus obtained thermal recording material is more excellent in the stability of an image and a background as compared with a conventional one and markedly excellent in oil resistance and plasticizer resistance. |
