PURPOSE:To provide the title recording material having high sensitivity and preventing a recording image from fading and whitening, by using specific p-hydroxybenzoeate or a bisphenol derivative as a developer and higher fattey acid or a metal salt thereof as a heat-meltable substance. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material utilizing the color forming reaction between a leuco dye and a developer, a p-hydroxybenzoate represented by formula I (wherein R1 is hydrogen or a 1 to 3C alkyl group) or a bisphenol derivative represented by formula II (wherein n is 1 or 2) is used as the developer and at least one higher fatty acid or a metal salt thereof is used. As higher fatty acid, 16 to 22C one is pref. and, for example, palmitic acid, stearic acid and behenic acid etc. are designated. As the metal salt thereof, a zinc salt, an aluminum salt, a calcium salt, a zirconium salt, a barium salt, a tin salt and a magnesium salt et. are designated. By this method, a defect that a recording image fades or a white powder is generated on the surface of said image upon exposure to heat, water or humidity is removed. |
