The subject of the present invention is a novel type of slide rule for carrying out calculations on the basis of a certain number of data. The slide rule according to the invention is of the type comprising a hollow case 1 constituted by two adjoining walls leaving a gap in which at least one slide 2 moves. The walls of the case and those of the slide rule receive a certain number of data to be placed opposite each other. The slide rule according to the invention is characterised in essence in that: - the case exhibits a double reading slot over practically its whole length; - at least one flap is arranged laterally to the case, on the closed side of the slot and is fixed at at least one point at the level of the slot. <IMAGE>
