PURPOSE:To aim at simplifying the structure of an idle-up device and at reducing the fuel consumption, by opening and closing a rotary shut-off valve provided on a steering wheel shaft in association with the rotation of the steering wheel shaft so that the supply of intake-air into an intake-air passage is increased, to effect idle-up operation. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel shaft 1 is rotated to, for example, to the left to leftward rotate a steering shaft 3 under application of an assist force by an assist motor 6, a sleeve valve member 20 fixed to the steering shaft 3 which is coupled to the wheel shaft 1 through the intermediary of a torsion bar 12 is rotated relative to the shaft 1 in a rotary shut-off valve 2. With this arrangement, a passage groove 23a is communicated with a recess groove 20a so that a first port 13 is communicated with a second port 14. Then, air led from a passage 6 into the second port 14 is fed into an intake-air pipe 8a downstream of a throttle valve 10 through a passage 15 under action of vacuum suction, and therefore, the engine 9 is subjected to idle-up. |
