A tubular object which is capable of heat restoration, consists of plastic and has an inner coating of metal is described, in the case of which the metal coating (seen in the longitudinal direction) is fastened to the tube by means of strips which are spaced apart from one another and consist of an adhesive material, the metal coating running in a serrated manner between the attachment points in such a way that, after shrinking, it rests, without wrinkles but with overlaps, on the inner wall of the tube.
