PURPOSE:To obtain air containing more than two millions of ultrafine water droplets per cubic foot of air with a diameter of less than 0.5mum, by spraying and smashing water having gage pressure of 0.3-5.5kg/cm<2> through nozzles provided in large number with a diameter of 0.2-8mm to send air. CONSTITUTION:A spray pipe 2 is provided close to the wall of a water-spraying device 1, a large number of water spraying nozzles 3 being provided on said pipe. The number of the nozzles 3 to be provided is 30-1,500, the diameter thereof being in the range of 0.2-8mm, preferably, 0.5-3mm, while water having gage pressure ranging 0.3-5.5kg/cm<2> preferably 0.5-2.5kg/cm<2> is sprayed against a wall 10-150cm away. From an inlet port 4, air is admitted with a flow speed of 15-50m/sec, with a flow volume of 3-3,000m<3>/min, where air containing ultrafine water droplets with a particle diameter of less than 0.5mum of more than 2 millions in number per cubic foot of air is produced and discharged through an outlet port 5. Accordingly, ultrafine droplets suitable for cleaning air can be easily produced by means of this method. |
