The invention relates to a device for making wall cutouts for the subsequent mounting of boxes of an electrical installation, in particular of cavity wall boxes, with a basic body which is round in cross-section and on which one end of a saw blade is preferably detachably mounted. The front free end face of the saw blade has the toothing. Fastened detachably in the centre of the basic body is a drill which projects with its tip beyond the saw blade in the assembled state. In order to achieve the necessary free cut of the device for making wall cutouts, the free end of the saw blade lying opposite the basic body has a cross-sectional shape which has at least two preferably diametrically opposite non-round sections. The cross-sectional shape of the saw blade is composed of flattened off and round sections.
