In order to provide a method for the production of a one-piece rim ring with no weld seams, which requires only a small number of working steps and in which the rim produced can be manufactured with narrow tolerances and high truth of running, it is proposed that a rim flange (27) is pressed out of an outer undeformed edge region of a round blank before, during or after the further deep drawing of the said blank, and a central hole is punched out of the round blank at the latest before the conclusion of the deep-drawing operation and the rim-ring blank thus formed is deep-drawn further on the side provided with the central hole until a bottomless section (31) of a cylinder is achieved and is then widened at the free end of the section (31) of the cylinder, after which the other rim flange (27) is pressed out at this widened edge region. In an alternative embodiment for the purpose of obtaining a flat-base rim, a profiled groove (39) is pressed out directly at the free end of the section (31) of the cylinder without the abovementioned widening operation. <IMAGE>
