A screw and nut transmission comprising a screw (1) and a nut assembly (2, 8) movable in a longitudinal direction along it, which is intended to be able to be stopped instantly from an axial movement along the screw (1), with the nut assembly featuring a first transmission nut (2) which is connected by a compression spring (10) or the like to a second transmission nut (8), with both transmission nuts (2, 8) featuring an internal thread which is suited to the screw (1). The transmission is intended e.g. to receive a write head for a computer writer and is characterised by the fact that the transmission nuts (2, 8) are also connected with each other by driver elements (6, 9) movable in an axial direction, which prevent the nuts (2, 8) rotating in relation to each other under the influence of a pressure from the compression spring (10). |
