PURPOSE:To prepare a stably dispersed resin composition, by polymerizing a monomer, which gives a polymer insoluble in an aqueous medium, in the medium wherein a specific acrylic copolymer is dissolved as a dispersing agent. CONSTITUTION:(A) About 30-70 wt.% of an alkylene oxide adduct of (meth) acrylic acid, e.g. 2-hydroxy-ethyl(meth)acrylate is copolymerized with (B) about 30-70 wt.% of (meth)acrylic acid and (C) about 40 wt.% or less of a monomer, e.g. methyl(meth)acrylate, etc., having a polymerizable unsaturated bond in an aqueous medium to form a water-soluble polymer having a solid acid value >= about 200. Polymerizable monomers, e.g. methyl(meth)acrylate, vinyl acetate, styrene, etc. are polymerized in an aqueous medium containing the water-soluble polymer as a dispersing agent to give a dispersed resin composition. The weight ratio of the dispersing agent to the monomers is preferably about 0.5-60:99.5-40. |
