PURPOSE:To detect the abnormality of a spiral rotating body which conveys toner speedily by detecting the rotation force of the rotating body from the extent of the tension of a chain which drives and rotates the rotating body. CONSTITUTION:The spiral rotating body which conveys the toner axially is driven and rotated through the sprocket 2 of a driving source, the chain 3, and a sprocket 1. If the rotating body becomes abnormal and the load on the sprocket 1 increases, the chain 3 pushes up a tension sprocket 5 against a spring 7 and the operating piece 4a ofo a tension arm 4 operates a switch 8 to stop the rotation of the sprocket 1. Thus, the abnormality of the spiral rotating body is detected speedily and dealt with. |
