PURPOSE:To realize a navigation system making a CD a storage medium by superposing road information of a sub-code of the CD on the current positional information of a vehicle on the same display. CONSTITUTION:The topographical data (a) and the road information (b) are stored in the channels with the different sub-codes of the compact disc (CD). The road information is read in a screen memory (V-RAM 2) and developed two-dimensionally and displayed on a display. Apart from this, the current position of the vehicle of each point of time is calculated based on azimuth angle information from a direction sensor and mobile quantity information of the vehicle by a vehicle velocity sensor or the like loaded on the vehicle and the positional information is stored in a separate screen memory (V-RAM 3). A travel locus along the road information can be drawn by superimposing the positional information (V-RAM 1) on the same display. |
