The milling device consists of a combination of hammer mill (20) and disc mill (36). In the hammer mill (20), the milling charge is thrown by the rotating hammers (28) which are borne by a horizontal shaft against a folded, perforated metal sheet which forms the inner lining, and are comminuted as a result. The lower output of the hammer mill is adjoined by the axial input of a disc mill which bears a disc which rotates with a horizontal shaft and has on one side saw blades as milling elements which form together with the stationary disc wall (48) an axial milling gap. Saw blades (66) arranged on the circumference of the rotating disc form a second radial milling gap together with a stationary outer casing (49).
