PURPOSE:To simplify trouble-shooting in case of abnormal termination of an application program by converting the end state to a symbol expressed with a word or a sentence to report the end state from an operating system. CONSTITUTION:A conversion function calling means 4 calls a function in the operating system which converts the value of a register indicating the state of the processing result of a request function, which is processed in the operating system, to a symbol. The value of the register indicating the state of the processing result of the function of the operating system requested by the application program is inputted to an end code converting means 5, and the means 5 refers to an end code (numeric)/index correspondence table 8 to convert said value of the register to an index value. An index converting means 6 refers to an index/symbol correspondence table 9 to convert, to convert the end state, which is converted to the index value, to the symbol indicating the end state.
