A tubular plastic article, thermally restorable in the longitudinal direction, is described, to whose inner and/or outer surface a tubular layer of a deformable plastic is applied, which firmly adheres to the article by means of longitudinally spaced fixing means, the coating and the article not being connected between the fixing means. On shrinkage of the tube, the layer arches up between the fixing means.
