PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of the sensitivity and to stabilize the repeating characteristics by forming a layer contg. a charge generating substance on an electrically conductive substrate and incorporating a specific low molecular ammonium salt into the layer by a specified amount basing on the amount of the charge generating substance. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer and a charge transferring layer are successively laminated on an electrically conductive support to obtain a photosensitive body. The charge generating layer contains a charge generating substance such as a guaiazulene or perylene pigment and a low molecular ammonium salt. The amount of the ammonium salt is 0.1-15pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. charge generating substance. A compound represented by the formula (where R1 is acyclic or cyclic hydrocarbon, each of R2, R3 and R4 is H, acyclic or cyclic hydrocarbon and X<-> is an anion) or a salt of a heterocyclic compound contg. quatervalent nitrogen is used as the low molecular ammonium salt. Since the charge generating layer contains the ammonium salt, the repeating stability of the photosensitive body can be improve without lowering the sensitivity. |
