The torsional vibration absorber has two rotating masses formed by rings (2, 3) arranged concentrically one inside the other, the inner intermediate ring (2) being connected via a hard torsion spring (5) to the fixing hub (1) and the outer ring (3) being connected via a soft torsion spring (5) to the intermediate ring (2). Stop pins (8), which engage in cut-outs (7) in the intermediate ring (2), limit the rotation of the outer ring (3) to an angle (a) of rotation in both directions of rotation relative to the intermediate ring (2). As a result, the torsional vibration absorber has several natural resonances, one of which sets in with the angle (a) of rotation in the case of relatively high torque fluctuations. The torsional vibration absorber is therefore suitable for the absorption of disturbing vibrations in several frequency ranges. <IMAGE>
