PURPOSE:To prevent the jamming of paper so as to make the handling of an electrophotographic printer easier, by providing its photosensitive body closely to the central part of the printer, arranging a fixing device, control base plate, power source section, etc., at almost the same height as that of the photosensitive body or higher, and disposing an exposure source, cleaner, etc., to lower levels. CONSTITUTION:A heating type fixing device 6 has usually a calorific value corresponding to electric power of about 500W and is provided at a position which is the same as or higher than a photosensitive body 2 in height and close to a side face section 17 that is a paper discharging port, so as to prevent the convection 17 that is paper discharging port, so as to prevent the convection of heat to the minimum. A power source section 14 including a DC power source has a calorific value corresponding to about 70W and a control base plate 13 used for controlling the sequential operations of electrophotographic processes and as an interface with a host has a calorific value corresponding to about 60W. By mounting the fixing device 2, power source section 14, and control base plate 13 at levels higher than the photosensitive body 2, the surface of the photosensitive body 2, the surface of the photosensitive body 2 and toner in a developing device 4 are prevented from being deteriorated by high temperature. An exposure source 3 uses a laser beam, LED, etc., and a plastic lens used instead of an optical-glass lens is provided at a level lower than the photosensitive body 2 so as to make the lens to hardly receive thermal influences when this electrophotographic printer 1 is operated.
