PURPOSE:To improve the fit in the starting stage, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and lubricating performance of a titled ring obtd. by forming a black oxide film layer on the front surface layer of a flange and a nitride layer consisting of a carbonitride layer and nitrogen diffused layer to the lower part thereof. CONSTITUTION:The ring for spinning machine generally formed by subjecting a case hardening steel to carburization hardening and surface treatment after turning is subjected to a gas soft nitriding treatment and black coating treatment on at least the flange surface layer thereof to contact with a traveler, by which the porous black oxide film layer 2 of Fe3O4 and the nitride layer 5 are formed on the outermost surface of the base 6. The nitride layer 5 is constituted of the porous carbonitride layer 3 of Fe3CN, etc., under the above- mentioned oxide film layer 2 and further the nitrogen diffused layer 4 of Fe4N, etc., under the same. A lubricating agent such as synthetic lubricating oil or MoS2 is preferably impregnated into the porous layers of the oxide film layer 2 and the carbonitride layer 3. The fit in the starting stage is improved and thread breakage is decreased by such constitution. |
