PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of a navigation system by retrieving road information of the neighborhood of a scheduled place of a next trace point from its color information and setting the trace point in an outline of the most adjacent road information. CONSTITUTION:For instance, 100, 101, 102 and 103 are a black background (land), a blue sea, a yellow high-speed road and a green travel locus (trace information stored in a V-RAM 10) respectively and since the road 102 has the width, the trace information 103 is set in the outline. When the trace point 103 is deviated from the road information (oblique-line parts in figure) 102 at the time of moving from 1 to 2, the correction to move the trace point in the outline 3 of the most adjacent road information is performed. The retrieving for the road information 102 is performed referring to color codes b0-b3 on V-RAMs 20-23. Hereby, since the trace point 103 is always positioned in the outline of the road information (V-RAMs 20-30), an accurate guide function can be displayed. |
