In a ladle transfer carriage with a lifting device, which carriage can be moved in particular in the region of the level of a continuous casting mould or of the supply vessel of an apparatus for the continuous casting of metal, the ladle nozzle being vertically adjustable in relation to a molten metal level, the aim is to provide the necessary characteristics for the positioning, holding and vertical adjustment of the casting ladle (18) in relation to a molten metal level. This object is achieved by virtue of the fact that one pair of wheel-bearing rockers (27) is assigned to each wheel-pair axle (24; 26) of the carriage frame (12), which is supported on at least two wheel pairs (4, 7; 3, 6), one lever end (27a) of the said rockers being swivel-mounted on the carriage frame (12) and the other lever end (27b) of the said rockers being connected in articulated fashion to one power transmission end (29) of a hydraulic piston/cylinder unit (31), the other power-transmission end (30) being articulated on the carriage frame (12). <IMAGE>
