PURPOSE:To obtain an image sufficient in density and low in fog density through short time developdment by forming a layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a binder, a reducing agent, and a proper dye donor on a support. CONSTITUTION:The layer formed on the support contains at least the photosensitive silver halide, the binder, the reducing agent, and the dye donor represented by formula (I) in which C is a group reacts and couples with the oxidation product of the reducing agent represented by formula (II) and (III); L is a bonding group combining with C and D through covalent bonds, and releasable by the reaction with the oxidation product of the reducing agent; and D is a dye component for forming an image. The silver halide to be used may be any of silver chloride, silver bromide, silver iodide, silver chlorobromide, silver chloroiodide, silver iodobromide, and silver chloroiodobromide, and it is used in an amount of 1mg-10g/m<2> in terms of silver. As the reducing agent, known agents as well as the precursors of them which have no reducing action, but are allowed to exhibit reducing ability by the action of nucleophilic reagents and heat in the course of development are used in an amount of 0.01-20mol per 1mol of silver. |
