The hearth plate 7 and the rear wall 8 comprise tilting means B which consist of two ramps, one called rear wall ramp and fixed to the external face of the rear wall 8, and the other called plate ramp and placed under the hearth plate 7, and which enable the hearth 5, once introduced into the fireplace, to pass from a lying position in which the hearth plate 7 is substantially vertical, to an erect position in which the hearth plate 7 is substantially horizontal, as well as means C making it possible to lock this hearth 5 in the erect position in the fireplace.
