PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase the opening speed and return speed of an armature, in a wire dot printer, by providing a spring member which is mounted to a moving member and compressed when said moving member is moved and attracted to the return direction. CONSTITUTION:When a coil 3 is excited in such a state that a drive coil 10 is demagnetized and a spring support 12 is positioned in the leading end direction of a printing wire 7 by a drive spring 13, an amarture 6 is separated from a yoke 2 to perform opening operation, that is, printing operation by the printing wire 7. After printing, when the coil 3 is demagnetized in order to return the armature 6 in such a state that a current is applied to the drive coil 10 and the support 12 is attracted to a drive coil 9, the armature 6 performs return operation by the attraction force of a permanent magnet 4 but return operation is accelerated by the elongation of a return spring 13 having stored energy. By this method, the opening speed and return speed of the armature are increased and a print stroke can be made large. |
