PURPOSE:To enable the rapid and stable processing of a photographic element by developing a silver halide color photographic sensitive material contg. a practical silver chlorobromide emulsion having 5-60mol% silver bromide content as the silver halide emulsion of the green- and red-sensitive silver halide emul sion layers with a specified color developing soln. at >=30 deg.C for <=150sec. CONSTITUTION:A photographic element contg. a practical silver chlorobromide emulsion having 5-60mol% silver bromide content as the silver halide emulsion of the green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers is developed with a color developing soln. contg. an N-hydroxyalkyl substituted-p-phenylenediamine deriv. at >=30 deg.C for <=150sec. Even when a reduced amount of a replenisher is used during the development with the color developing soln., the photographic element is not affected by a change in the concn. of bromide ions and can always maintain constant and proper photoggraphic performance for a long period. The resulting color forming dyes and the part not subjected to color development are not faded or discolored even after storage for a long period.
