PURPOSE:To produce cephalosporin C acylase, having specific hydrolytic action and useful for the field of utilizing enzymes and medicines, etc., by cultivating a microorganism of the genus Pseudomonas in a culture medium. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism Pseudomonas sp. SE-83 separated from soil is inoculated into a culture medium containing an organic acid as a carbon source, peptone as a nitrogen source, phosphoric acid as an inorganic material, etc., to carry out aerobic liquid cultivation at 25-32 deg.C for 2-4 days. The resultant culture is then subjected to treatment, e.g. centrifugal separation, salting out, dialysis, etc., to give an enzyme having properties of hydrolyzing a compound expressed by formula I (R is -OCOCH3, -H or -OH) into a compound expressed by formula II and D-alpha-aminoadipic acid, about 9 optimum pH, 4-4.5 isoelectric point and an inhibitor of p-chloromercury benzoate, etc. |
