PURPOSE:To secure such an image that is excellent in a contrast, by using a plasma display as a driving source of a liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION:A plasma display (PD) having a discharging gap 5 and a liquid crystal display (LCD) having a liquid crystal layer 12 are unitized in one, constituting a display device. The plasma display constitutes a series circuit for a condenser in terms of equivalence, therefore if a pulse current passes through, in conformity with the polarity, a wall voltage in proportion to integral but inverse proportion to capacity of the pulse current is left behind at both ends of each condenser. Since each terminal voltage of these condensers is relatively high, it printed on the liquid crystal display upon being divided by impedance. With this constitution, such a hybrid structural display device as being suitable for either day and night, beside a large screen is securable. |
