<p>Naphthyl alkanones of formula (I), in which R1 can be various radicals and R2 is lower alkyl, for pharmacological use as analgesic aid anti-inflammatory agents, are made by (a) forming a Grignard cpd. by reaction of 2-naphthyl 1-bromo ethane of formula (II) with metallic Mg, in an anhydrous ether solvent, in presence of an activator, e.g. iodine, Na or K naphthoate or dibromoethane; and (b) treating this with an acid deriv. of formula R2COZ, in which Z is Cl, dialkylamino or 2-methyl N-aziridino.</p> |
