<p>A process for the preparation of 2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyl tetracosane and the isomers thereof having a basic hexamethyl tetracosane structure is described. Therein the raw materials are vegetable triglyceride oils and fats or oleins thereof obtained by physical refining. Together with an optional prior refining step, the process comprises a fatty acid and unsaponifiable material separation step, a saponification step giving unsaturated hydrocarbons, a hydrogenation step and a final deparaffining and purification step.</p> |
