<p>This is a controller or monitor of an air device in a cotton harvester. An element placed inside the conduit above the air discharge stream has a suitable shape for separating the cotton and serves as support for a vacuum opening which communicates with a simple switch by means of pressure difference, via a vacuum tube. The effect of suction of the normal current of air over the opening creates a vacuum in the tube, which keeps the switch open, but if the speed of the air in the conduit falls below a preselected value, on account of a jam, low speed of the fan or defective hose, the vacuum is reduced and the switch is closed, activating a warning device.</p> |
