<p>Device for fixing the rod 1 of a shock absorber for a motor vehicle on a shaft 3 of the vehicle suspension, characterized in that it comprises a mounting element in the form of a framework 4, 7, capable of flexing in the direction of the shaft 3 of the suspension, and fixed rigidly at the end of the shaft 1, and an elastic element 9 which is supported on the mounting element 7 and exerts on the shaft 3 of the suspension a pretensioning force, oriented in the axial direction of the shaft 1 and of a value which is higher than the maximum force transmitted by the rod. In this way, rigid fixing in the axial direction of the rod is obtained, simultaneously allowing correction of alignment defects by virtue of the flexibility of the framework 4 and correction of clearance by virtue of the elastic element 9.
