<p>A sensing device for detecting sudden pressure changes of fluids in pipes and vessels comprises a gripper adapted to be readily attached and removed from such items, for making a contact therewith. Associated with the gripper is a member 14 of piezo-electric plastics material to which instantaneous deformations of the pipe or vessel to which the gripper is attached are transmitted and which thereby generates an electric current which is applied to a connection terminal. <IMAGE></p> |
