<p>The boiler consists of a tank of 1600 litre capacity, insulated with a refractory layer; supports on which the tank rests over a frame; bearings for resting the tank over axles of a pair of wheels at front and rear; a heating coil with longitudinal fins connected to a gas-oil burner, a moveable trap-door for the liquid asphalt charge; a pump for circulation of 100 litres per minute of water; a suction tube immersed in the asphalt mass; a tube joined to a rapid return valve; ramps to assist charging and discharging of the tank, outlet chimneys for gases, and a dump valve.</p> |
