<p>A clutch (2) with a driving plate (4) rotated by a power source, and a driven plate (8), and a clutch cover assembly (10). The assembly (10) comprises a cover pressing (12) with a rim flange (50), a pressure plate (14), and a diaphragm spring (16). The assembly (10) is secured to the driving plate by bolts (54) through the flange (50). Belleville washers (64) surrounding the bolts (54) are disposed between the flange (50) and the bolt heads (56). When the clutch is disengaged by release bearing (26) being pulled in direction A, the Belleville washers (64) cone and the flange (50) presses on the driving plate (4). When the clutch re-engages by allowing the diaphragm (16) to urge the pressure plate (14) towards the driving plate, the increased gripping of the driven plate (8) between driving plate and pressure plate is resiliently cushioned by flattening the Bellevilles (64) as the flange (50) moves slightly from the driving plate (4).</p> |
