In this tread strip pattern comprising central and lateral circumferential rows of studs arranged in the circumferential direction, and separated by grooves, the studs 10 situated in the centre of the tread strip are subdivided into a long segment 11, at an angle 18, 18' with respect to the rolling axis X-X of the tyre and comprising ends 12 connected by a junction element 13, and two short segments 14, 15 at the same angle with respect to the axis X-X, the long segment 11 being separated from the short segments 14, 15 by grooves 16, 17 of a depth equal at most to half the depth of the motifs of the pattern; the studs 10 are arranged in two longitudinal rows, being offset according to the circumferential direction and being imbricated by their tips in the neighbouring row of studs.
