PURPOSE:To prevent any evidence of burrs on the inside face of an oil groove by shaping the oil groove in such a manner that annular friction members having radially arranged notches are punched out of a friction material sheet, piling and bonding the punched members on a core metal and annular parts including the bottom parts of said notches are cut away. CONSTITUTION:Annular friction members 3 are punched out of a paper base friction sheet 1. Each of the annular friction members 3 has a plurality of radially arranged notches 2. The annular frcition members 3 are piled and bonded on both faces of an annular core metal 4. Thereafter, the external periphery parts of the annular friction members 3 are cut away annularly along the external peripheral face 4a of the core metal 4. The annular part including the bottom part of each of the notches 2 is cut away so that an oil groove 5 is formed from each notch 2 and an approximately rectangular sheet-like friction member 30 is formed between each of the oil grooves 5. Thus, a friction plate 6 can be obtained. |
