PURPOSE:To bring a developer and a recording medium into secure contact with each other and prevent the recording medium from being wasted by sucking the recording medium to the developer by fluid operation of the developer and varying the position relation of each device. CONSTITUTION:When the rear end of the recording medium after an electrostatic latent image is recorded by a recording head 2 reaches a cutter 17, the medium is cut and sent to a developing device in a box shape 10 which is thin and long laterally in the conveyance direction of the medium 1. When the medium 1 passes on the slit 15 of the box-shaped part 10, the flow rate of the developer flowing through a flow passage 12 is maximum at an area reduction part 14 and the mdium 1 is drawn in the slit 15 by the Venturi effect of the develooper fluid to contact the developer securely, so that no developer does scatters out. Thus, the scattering of the developer is prevented regardless of whether the medium 1 is present or not, so a waste of the medium 1 is eliminated. |
