The sealing cushion has a flexible skin (4) which is formed in its edge region, with formation of an annular bead (7), in such a way that an annular cavity (8) is created. The edge of the annular bead (7) is firmly connected to a holding ring (5) which can be pressed into a corresponding annular groove (6) of the associated protective earpiece. The elastic sealing cushion is produced in one piece by injection moulding, has no connecting edges which could give rise to injuries and can be washed without problems with the conventional detergents. <IMAGE>
