PURPOSE:To prevent drop of the damping force at an extra-low speed and shorten the length in axial direction by furnishing an elongate side sub-valve, which uses in cooperation either part or the whole of an elongate side main valve, at the downstream mouth end of an elongate side sub-port for putting in communication two oil chambers furnished at a piston and a piston rod. CONSTITUTION:An elongate side main port 36 putting two oil chambers 34, 35 in communication penetrates a piston 32, and a sub-port 38 is cut at the lower end face. A piston rod 33 is provided with a longitudinally stretching passage 39 and sideways passages 40, 41, and an elongate side main valve 42 and an elongate side sub-valve 43 are arranged at the downstream outlet end of the elongate side main port 36 and sub-port 38. A leaf valve 44 constituting the elongate side sub-valve 43 is butted onto the bottom seat of the piston 32, and the elongate side main valve 43 is formed between leaf valves 44, 46 and spacer 45. This shortens the length in the axial direction, prevents drop of the damping force at extra-low speed, and provides controllability for the damping force characteristic. |
