PURPOSE:To form a gel compsn. having an arbitrary viscosity and good long- term stability and applicability, by blending a silicone oil, a silicon compd., an org. material-modified clay mineral and water. CONSTITUTION:A silicone oil, at least one member selected from among polyoxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxanes (hereinafter referred to as polyether-modified silicone) of formulas I, II and III, an org. material-modified clay mineral and water are blended. In the formulas I, II and III, R group are methyl or part of R groups are phenyl; R' is H, a 1-12C alkyl; p is 1-5; q is 2-3; x, m, n represents each, on an average, such a value that polyether- modified silicone contains 20-40wt% (excluding 20wt%) polyoxyalkylene group per molecule and has a viscosity of 5-3,000cSt at 25 deg.C. The gel compsn. is suitable for use as a base for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals and as wax for automobiles and furnishings. |
