The component-management device (18), particularly for clock making components, is intended to be combined with a conveying system (10, 14). It includes a container (28) capable of receiving an upstream stack (62) and a downstream stack (64), first transfer means (30) for loading the upstream stack and/or unloading the downstream stack and second transfer means (32) for transferring the components (18) from the upstream stack (62) to the downstream stack (64). The second transfer means (32) comprise means for measuring and means for moving the components. The moving means transfer one component whenever the upstream stack (62) is higher than the downstream stack. In this manner, the components emerge from the container in the same order as they were introduced. <IMAGE>
