The invention relates to a radio intercom communication system useful in particular in armoured vehicles. This system is of the type comprising at least two communication units, each of these units including at least one radio source capable of operating in transmission and reception, and an intercom source capable of operating in transmission and reception, the two sources being common-input connected, via a cover plate 2, to a microphone and to a headset 14, and connected at output to an intercom channel 15, 16 for the intercom source, and to a radio channel 17, 18, 19 for the radio source, the two sources being able to operate alone or simultaneously as selected by the user, system characterised in that it includes means for bringing about the attenuation of the radio reception in each of the units during an intercom transmission and during simultaneous operation.
