PURPOSE:To increase the speed of ion recording to a recording body, by constituting a shield of two splittable members and linearily forming an ion discharge path along the flow direction of compressed air between the shield members while integrally providing a control electrode along the inner wall of one shield member. CONSTITUTION:Because an upper side shield member 22a and a solid electrode 42 are held to earth potential when high voltage is applied to a discharge wire 21, discharge uniformly generates between the discharge wire 21 and the peripheral wall of a cylindrical space part 30 and ions evenly generate from the periphery of the discharge wire 21. When compressed air is introduced into the cylindrical space part 30 through an air introducing passage 23 in this state, the ion is guided to the side of an ion discharge passage 26. At this time, the image control signal from an image control signal generation pat 28 has been converted to the transmission pulse signal corresponding to a non-image part. When said image control signal is appropriately applied to each control electrode 27, an electric field is formed toward the wall surface of the opposed ion discharge passage 26 from the control electrode 27 to which the image control signal has been applied in the ion discharge passage 26 and no electric field is formed to the part of the other control electrode 27. |
