PURPOSE:To make it possible not only to obtain recording with excellent quality but also to stably preserve a recording article without trouble due to bleeding, by containing a heat-meltable reaction product of waxes each having a functional group and a dye having a functional group which reacts with the functional group of each wax. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material contains a het-meltable reaction product of waxes each containing a functional group and a dye having a functional group which reacts with the functional group of each wax. As the dye reacted with waxes, there are an acid dye, a basic dye, a direct dye and a disperse dye, each of which has a reactive group such as a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, a sulfone group, a group derived from said substitutents, an amino group and a substituted amino group, and a reactive dye having a reactive group such as a vinyl sulfone group or an alkyl sulfate group. The reaction of said waxes with the dye having the reactive groups is performed in water or an org. solvent and, in order to assist the reaction, a catalyst may be appropriately used. As a base material, papers, a heat-resistant film composed of polyester or polyimide or a film provided with a heat resistant coating layer are used. |
