METHOD FOR CLEARING DEPOSITS FROM THE INNER SURFACE OF A PIPELINE AND APPLYING PROTECTIVE COATING THERETO

A method for clearing deposits from the inner surface of a pipeline and applying a protective coating to it consists in clearing deposits from the surface, treating it with a corrosion inhibitor solution forming a coating on the surface of the pipeline and subsequent treatment with an inhibitor solution which preserves the coating. The clearing of the inner surface of the pipeline is effected with liquid jets creating a pressure differential from the base of the deposits towards their surface and thus removing the major part of the deposition layer whereas the remaining part of the deposition layer is simultaneously saturated with the corrosion inhibitor solution which is contained in that liquid and forms the coating or treated with a corrosion activating solution with subsequent saturation of the layer with the corrosion inhibitor solution forming the coating.
