The method for making printing masks is carried out by means of handling devices preferably in the manner of a rotatable drum with tools on tool carriers guided on the drum circumference, the working stages necessary for making the masks, such as mask support fastening, register holing, mask drawing, mask cutting, milling and exposing, take place according to the calculated plan. It is characteristic that one tool or a number of tools simultaneously draw, cut, mill or expose details of the mask on the mask support by adjusting movements when the drum is rotating or during its momentary standstill.
